Radiator Valves & Accessories

Radiator valves control the temperature of your radiator by adjusting the flow of hot water into the pipework. Valves always come in pairs:  one to adjust the amount of water entering the radiator to adjust temperature and the other to balance your system by affecting the amount of heat exiting the radiator.

Manual valves are simple on/off valves. They're typically a more affordable option, they perform very well, but they give you less specific control of the temperature of your radiator. 

Thermostatic valves (TRVs) offer more control of the temperature of your radiator as they have a small thermostat/sensor inside. Whilst the outlay is a little more, they can save you money in the long term by maintaining a constant temperature and not overheating. 

Often misunderstood, the numbers on a thermostatic valve (TRV) are actually temperature targets.

Typically:

* = Frost protection (approx. 7°C)
3 = Standard room temp (approx. 20°C)
5 = Maximum heat (approx. 25°C)
