Accessibility Statement for Toasty

Toasty and our parent company Beyond Retail Ltd are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We endeavour to continually improve the user experience for everyone, and apply the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Toasty is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure the accessibility of Toasty, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for Toasty:

1. Colour contrast: Some areas of the website do not have sufficient colour contrast. We are planning on improving this further in the near future.
2. Product images: Currently product images use the product name for alt text. We have logged a ticket for this to improve in the future.
3. Delivery method selection: Delivery methods are difficult to change using a keyboard only.
4. Blog posts: There are a lot of old blog articles on this website, which may not be written using clear language and do not have accessible images. There are also blog posts where headings are not in sequential order.
5. Product reviews: These are user generated reviews and therefore we cannot ensure the readability of the content.
6. Third party widgets: We have identified that the Yotpo, Live Chat and Trustpilot widgets have a few accessibility issues. We have logged a ticket for this to improve in the future.
7. Blog "Show more posts" button: Interacting with this button does not change focus to the added blog posts, so users can lose their place on the page.
8. Add to basket overlay: When opening products within the add to basket overlay, it is not clear that another overlay will open with the product information.
9. Focus styles: Some focus styles do not provide enough contrast.
