To work out which one you require, multiply the heat output (in Watts) of your chosen radiator by 0.6 and round down to the nearest element. For example, if your radiator has a heat output of 1000W, you would require a 600W element (1000 x 0.6). If you are unsure which element you require, please do not hesitate to contact our sales team

IP Rating

IP stands for ingress protection. It is a measure of the effectiveness of sealing electrical enclosures from foreign bodies such as tools and water.

IP ratings are given in two digits:

1st digit: A number between 0-6 which gives an indication of the protection from solid objects such as tools, dirt and dust. The higher the number, the better the protection.

2nd digit: A number 0-9 which indicates the protection of the electrical enclosures from moisture ingress. The higher the number, the better the protection against moisture.

Watts

Watts is a measure of heat output used for electric radiators, with a higher watt figure meaning a higher heat output. Purchasing a radiator that has the correct wattage will ensure your room will be at a comfortable temperature without wasting energy.

By using our BTU calculator, you can calculate the number of watts your radiator needs to adequately heat your room.
