Vertical Radiators

Vertical radiators come into their own when wall space is limited.

They’re a smart choice for kitchens, where the space beneath the window is often taken up by a sink or cabinets. Instead of fighting for horizontal room, you can make use of height instead.

They also work brilliantly in hallways. A vertical mirror radiator, for example, gives you warmth and a full-length mirror in one neat, space-saving design.

Tall radiators are especially useful in rooms where furniture tends to block heat. It’s common to see sofas placed in front of horizontal radiators, which isn’t ideal for heat flow. Swapping to a vertical radiator can help the warmth move around the room more effectively. 

There’s a common belief that vertical radiators don’t produce as much heat as horizontal ones. In reality, efficiency comes down to size and design, not orientation. 

A vertical radiator will produce the same heat output as a horizontal radiator of equivalent size and specification. The key is choosing the correct BTU for your room.

This really comes down to how much heat your room needs.

Double panel radiators provide higher heat output, making them ideal for larger rooms or spaces whereas a single panel radiator can be more than enough for smaller or well-insulated rooms.
